Company History

Strategic Comp was founded in 1992 in Metairie, LA, by former insurance producer and insurance agency-owner, Stephen Rosenthal. Operating as a Managing General Agent, Strategic Comp wrote workers’ compensation policies in eight southern states before being acquired by Great American Insurance Company in 2008. Stephen continues to serve as the President of the Strategic Comp Division of Great American Insurance Group, leading the company’s expansion into other areas of the country. Today, Strategic Comp serves hundreds of policyholders across 20 states.

Strategic Comp started as a small family-owned business, run by an entrepreneur. It maintains that flexible, creative, entrepreneurial culture as it continues to grow and expand.
